The sun slowly peeked over the top of the valley on the first morning of spring.
Their was still the smallest patches of snow from the last storm but a gentle wind blew through the trees bringing it's gently warmth.
Stretching his wings out Donder tossed his head lightly hearing the gentle tinkle from his bells.
Leaping down from his nest he stretched out the rest of his muscles.
Though with his powerful wings he could fly as high as the tree allowed he had opted to make his nest nearer the ground So other smaller creatures could share with him.
It wasn't odd for him to wake up on the colder mornings to find birds and small rodents sleeping with him to keep warm.
Seeing the wonderful morning that was approaching he decided to head towards the river to have a drink.

Kilara was curled up on a rock in the center of the river, wings streached out at her sides, sunning herself. The air was cold, but the sun felt warm on her back, and that was a sign that spring was finally here. She was watching the bright patterns the ripples of the water made as they reflected the sunlight, when she caught a glimpse of a very unusual pony, coming closer to the river. He had antlers growing out of his head, and a strange harness with silver bells. She could hear them jingling, even from this far away. Kila decided to wait and watch, wondering who this odd pony was.

((OOC: Just in case your interested, her name is pronounced Kee-lare-ah, and her nickname(Kila) is pronounced Kee-la))

As Donder neared the river he had the strangest feeling of being watched but just shook his head thinking himself silly.
At the shake of his head the small bells attached to his antlers lightly jingled making him feel happier.
Reaching the river he bent and took a quick drink before he noticed he was not alone. Raising his head he looked out over to the middle of the river where another was sunning them self.
Smiling , as best he could with his beak, he stretched out one wing in a friendly greeting wondering if he should stay or move on.

Kilara, seeing that the other gryphine was friendly, jumped up and used her wings to glide over to the bank. The odd gryphine was even stranger close up, if that was possible. They seemed to have a sort of mane, and a small fluffy tail. "Hello. Who are you?" Kila asked, curious.

Donder backed up slightly giving them enough space to land. Felling happy he was not teased or chased off he smiled "My name Is Donder. but the few others i know call me Don."
Looking her over carefully, as not to be noticed, he classed her as a 'Normal' gryphine. The only thing about her that was similer to him where her golden yellow/brown eyes.
She didn't have antlers like him and her tail was longer but she had looked Very graceful gliding over the water
"What might your name be lovely lady?" he asked bowing slightly

"Kilara, but you can call me Kila." She replied happily. She liked this gryphine, he seemed very nice. "It's nice that winter's finally over," Kila said, making conversation, "I thought spring was never going to arrive."

He smiled happily "i know. Winter is nice but Spring is one of the better seasons. Though i will miss some things,like waking up to a full nest" He chuckled slightly to him self then realized it might sound a bit odd and stuttered out " Cause all the smaller animals join me when it's cold."
He was suddenly very interested in the ground just at his paws trying to think of something 'cool' to say
Looking back up ha smiled again "want to get something to eat?"

Kila thought that was adorable, and also smart. Sharing a nest was a great way to keep warm in the colder seasons, and Kila wished she had thought of that, remembering all the times she had woken up with icicles hanging off her feathers. She realized Donder was asking her if she wanted to get something to eat, and smiled. "Sure." She said simply, "Where should we go?"

"I know a place further down river where there is some good hunting. Or theirs the other side of the river their are some bushes still with fruit on them."
Donder didn't like eating meat as much but he hunted every now and again. Though the bells made it harder he liked to swoop ambush his pray. By the time they heard the bells they were already done fore.



Riding the gently breeze lazily Felicity let the wind blow through her fur. It was always thrilling to ride the morning breeze.
Depending on how the flight went depended on how she based her day.
If the flight was good and the breeze strong she would venture out and try new things But if the flight was bad and the morning winds rough she would stay hidden away in her nest only venturing out for food and water.
Today was set to be a good day. The wind was warmer and very gentle but still strong enough to hold her up with little effort on her part.
seeing movement by the stream heading to the main river she swooped low she grabbed the small mouse that had ventured out to get a drink.
Gulping it down she decided to follow the stream till the river, maybe their were more mice out this morning.

"Fruit sounds fine." Kila said, she didn't really want to kill anything, even if it was for food. She would hunt in the winter and sometimes the fall, when it was nessesary, but otherwise she preferred to eat plants. They tasted better, anyways.
