Proteus should introduce himself a bit!
He's a gentle, curious, middle aged Gryphine- always finding new ways to look at things. But it's hard for him- his ability is sometimes a disability... electricity can frighten or even break things.
Every living creature generates electricity- some more efficiently than others. (The spinal column of eels, for example!) Now, Proteus has spent years of his life trying to control that burst of current his spine can create- all he has to to is shiver his back ( like getting goosebumps from a chill ) and several hundred to a thousand volts appear between his foot-paws along the metallic nerves that run along his legs and neck. It's not a lot of power, but in fact, it really hurts him if he can't conduct the electricity through the ground under him. Once it almost made him fall off a steep cliff when another Gryphine snuck up behind him one day. He learned right away to get into cold water very slowly... otherwise, "Yeowch!!!" On the other hand, Proteus may hurt a bit, but the sparking is WAY cool! A show like that is sure to draw a mate- one that is out of the ordinary... a special female who might not mind a jolt or two!! And... Proteus has a funny way of fixing stuff just by touching it... either that, or busting it beyond any possible repair.
